Nicole Nordeman said it best when she said that "This book left me breathless."
I too feel as though I am reeling from the impact of this book.
I've closed the cover and found myself thirsty to immerse myself in it again! Few books have impacted my mothering journey, or more broadly, my overall human experience as a woman, as profoundly as this one. This is not a book for leisurely wading in the shallows. This is the type of book that you must run and dive off of a cliff into!
A few weeks ago, I described these years of mothering littles as "standing on cracked, hallowed ground begging for water" and it's no coincidence that this book found its way into my hands.
"Running into Water" was the nourishment I needed for these times. Eloquent and evocative, Angela invites women (specifically mothers) into the deep waters of spiritual sustenance. Within these pages you'll find the inspiration to invest in your faith like never before, realizing that virtuous motherhood is possible by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Angela's love and empathy for her readers is evident in every chapter. This love is what establishes her as an authority to speak powerfully into the lives of mothers and challenge them to fly higher, swim deeper into the things of God. I will be keeping this book front and center on my shelf to return to again and again, since each chapter is packed full of wisdom for a myriad of seasons we will all find ourselves in at one time or another. What makes this book extra special to me is that the author, Angela, is an old family friend. I have experienced the fruit of her devotion to God firsthand. I grew up seeing this book on my mom's shelf. And to have read it now, as a young mother of two, just feels so divine.
